Privacy Policy.
CATalyst is a personal study tool for practising CAT-style mock tests. This page explains what data it collects, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
The short version
CATalyst works without an account and without tracking you individually. Visitor counts are measured in aggregate with a cookie-free tool. If you choose to create an account, your email and your test attempts are stored so you can see your history. Some public pages show ads served by Google.
Analytics (everyone)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic — how many people visit, which pages are popular, and roughly which countries visitors come from. It is privacy-first: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile of you. The data is aggregate and cannot identify you personally.
Accounts & test history (only if you sign up)
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we use Supabase (our authentication and database provider) to store:
- your email address and a securely hashed password, to sign you in;
- your test attempts — scores, your answers, and topic breakdowns — so your history and progress are available across visits.
This data is tied to your account and is used only to provide your history within CATalyst. It is not sold. If you never create an account, none of this is collected.
Data stored in your browser
To make the app work, CATalyst keeps a little data in your browser's local storage on your own device — for example, the test you are currently taking and any attempt that could not be saved to the server yet (so it isn't lost). This never leaves your device except to sync a saved attempt to your account when you sign in.
Advertising (public pages only)
Some public pages — the landing page and the test library — may display ads served by Google AdSense. The exam screen never shows ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and, where permitted, to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
- You can manage ad personalisation at Google My Ad Center.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, via Google's consent tools.
Third-party services we rely on
- Cloudflare — cookie-free web analytics.
- Supabase — account authentication and storage of your history (only if you sign up).
- Google AdSense — advertising on public pages.
- GitHub Pages — hosts the site; standard server request logs may apply.
Your choices
- Use CATalyst without an account — then no personal data is collected beyond aggregate analytics.
- Manage or opt out of ad personalisation through the Google links above.
- Clear your browser's local storage to remove locally-saved test data.
- Ask us to delete your account and stored history at any time (see Contact).
Children
CATalyst is intended for CAT aspirants (adult exam candidates) and is not directed at children under 13.
